Hi friends! I hope your year is winding down nicely. I’ve been trying to make some time to figure out what my 2018 theme is going to be, which is something I started doing in 2015.
I’ve also been thinking a little bit about my 2017 highlights and this is what I’ve got in no particular order:
My return to Berlin in the first part of the year. It meant so much to me to be back in a familiar place where I knew my way around without a map and had so many friends.
Paddle boarding with Metro in Idaho. Not only was it the best bonding time on the water, but we got to experience Idaho’s amazing natural surroundings on a regular basis. I really fell in love with that state, which was a delightful surprise.
The SOLAR ECLIPSE. I was lucky enough to be in the path of totality this summer and wow wow wow. It was not only visually stunning but also an absolute human/universe mind melter.
Driving cross country with Metro to Minneapolis. In particular the first night, when we car camped in Wyoming and the temps went down to 20F overnight. I’d prepared for this with a down comforter and wool blanket, which kept us perfectly cozy and warm all night long. Coming from someone who thinks anything below 50F is way too cold, that is saying something.
Other than the big sparkles, a lot of things have been happening quietly around here, including a soft open of the Field Office shop. And I’m looking forward to exhibiting some of that work and more at both Heimtex and Surtex in 2018!
Wishing you all a peaceful holiday and a happy new year! Thanks for all of your support in 2017—it means a lot!
