A week or two ago, I opened up an Etsy shop for the Field Office. I thought it might be a good framework for some projects that I’ve been wanting to do but did’t have any outlet for.
The idea is to start with some prints that reflect the sketchbooks that I’ve always loved to keep, but never shared with anyone—much less thought to turn into work. There is something really satisfying and freeing about that because for me it’s always been the final stretched and hung painting that is the final piece.
Right now there are only two pieces in the shop: the Field Office map of the world and that van we traveled about California in. And guess what? This morning I awoke to find that I had my first sale. Yay!
The next move for the shop are more drawings and some photographs, too.
