Here in Berlin the weather continues to be chilly. Yesterday it barely broke 60 degrees. But it is comfortable and I can’t say that I miss the hot, sticky summer.

I snapped this sign on the walk back from a friend’s house the other night. Frisör means ‘hairdresser’.

I thought that this name was right up there with the pair of hiking boots I saw last winter. The name of the style was ‘Mountain Attack.’ For Germans this apparently conjures up images of a zealous and invigorating day of hiking in ‘the nature’. I think I am not alone in saying that, as an English speaker, it conjured up disturbing images of being attacked by a puma/lunatic on a day hike.
