Six Oregon Beaches
Six beaches we visited during our two-week stay in January:
Nahalem State Park
Four miles of beach set against a backdrop of sand dunes and mountains.
Gorgeous rock formations, caves, and a waterfall.
Dramatic cliffs drop off to a partial stone beach.
Home of Haystack Rock, which shoots 72 meters out of the surf.
Reached via a path through the woods that dramatically opens up into Smuggler’s Cove—or Short Sands, as the surfers call it.
Located in the small town of Manzanita, the beach starts at the base of Neahkahnie Mountain and continues south for seven miles, where it meets the dunes in Nahalem.
